As an EMT and owner of a human first aid & CPR company, I decided to add pet first aid courses at the request of several clients. After reaching out to numerous organizations that provide pet first aid instructor training, I found Denise Fleck, and in all my trainings, I have never found an educator like her. She genuinely cared about the student and not just about making money. I was pleased to see Denise enjoyed answering questions, and the way she provided constructive criticism in a positive way, allowed me to gain the proper knowledge and meet a professional standard. I have unfortunately seen others allow an instructor candidate to pass a course and begin teaching at a sub par level. I feel the Pet Safety Crusader’s course has fully prepared me to educate pet parents and my community about pet safety, first aid and CPCR. We cannot thank Denise Fleck (aka The Pet Safety Crusader) of Sunny-dog Ink enough for her Pet First Aid Instructor's Training Course! Not only did she help us learn life-saving techniques for our own dogs, but she provided us the opportunity to add a service to our Community that is much needed. These classes are exciting and bring great skills to pet owners all over Oklahoma. We are so proud to provide this valued service. I was able to make a return on my investment teaching just 3 small classes. Denise Fleck’s Per First Aid and CPR Instructor training classes were detailed, comprehensive and personable. She even went above and beyond to help our homeless community population. We can now confidently teach our community how to help their pets in case of an emergency. I met Denise at the Pet Sitters International Conference in New Orleans and was so intrigued by what she was doing and impressed by how she teaches that I decided to do the instructors course myself. I would like to thank Denise for the wonderful training experience I had. As a vet tech, I am required to take seminars and classes regularly, and I found Denise’s to be the best I have had in a long time. The Pet Safety Crusader/Sunny-dog Ink Instructor training class exceeded my expectations. Denise’s knowledge of first aid and CPR for animal’s is spot on. The information is current and relevant; the presentation includes lots of good information and hands-on training, Other tools that were helpful to me are the pocket guides and “The Pet Safety Bible.” The best part of the class was my one-on-one time training with Denise! I learned a lot about providing first aid to animals, and how to train others to do it as well. Denise was very patient and flexible. Her critiques of my presentations were just what I needed to stay on track and keep my mind engaged. Our organization, when searching for pet first aid instructor training, evaluated 5+ companies. We chose Sunny-dog Ink and Denise Fleck based on many factors, but the most important one was her communication with us. As you can imagine we had a lot of questions for each company and received the most comprehensive and timely feedback from Denise.

From there, the training far surpassed any pre-conceived ideas we may have had. He goal of “Helping YOU to Help YOUR Pet” blended seamlessly with our mission to reduce animal homelessness in our community. If community members are introduced to knowledge that not only helps their pets in times of emergency till they can get to a veterinarian, but are introduced to information about how to care for your animal, we may well have less homeless animals. Topics are covered in detail but also made relevant for the area of the country you expect to be teaching in. Subjects, such as CPCR or ticks, are presented with the most up to date information available. And instructors are invited to participate in quarterly meeting updates as well. Feedback on your teaching is presented in a positive manner. I could go on, suffice it to say, the experience is certainly worth the investment. Just do it!
